Backtrack and a look ahead

Posted by SaraQ on October 31st, 2007

Thanks to everyone who came out and made the Festivals these past few weeks a success! The custom orders are rolling in, so remember to get your requests in soon if you want them for Christmas (nothing says love quite like a custom scrabble book). Thanks to the talented artists that I was able to snag some great work from at the Candler Park Festival, including Guh Guh and Phangs and Efi Designs . Thanks to the wonderful folks of Washington, GA too- especially Katherine and Bradley Barber for throwing such a great event (not to mention Katherine’s beautiful photography) and Tom and Barbara at Washington Plantation for a lovely evening.

Where can you find Re:Paper next?
Saturday, November 17th Indie Craft Experience Holiday Show at The B-Complex in Atlanta. Don’t miss this one, ICE throws the best holiday shopping experience in town!

Thanks for coming by the new re:Paper site! As you can see, we’re still moving in, but you can visit my Etsy store to see some of my currently available books. I’ll also be appearing at the following festivals here in Georgia, which you won’t want to miss. (It’s a beautiful day at the Candler Park festival, as I’m writing this.) Please do come back soon and check out new pictures, new books, and new thoughts and how-to articles on hackbooking.

October 13-14: Candler Park Fall Festival
10am – 6pm, Saturday and Sunday
A classic Atlanta neighborhood festival with an artist’s market, food, live music and entertainment, including Atlanta staples Baton Bob and Kingsized! Located in Candler Park (Atlanta) on McLendon Avenue between Little Five Points (Moreland Avenue) and Clifton Road. As always, save yourself hassel and gas $$ and take Marta to the Candler Park Station!

October 27: Washington Market Days Street Festival
10am – 7pm Saturday, with a Street Dance following 7-9pm
Celebrate fall in beautiful Washington, GA! Festivities include: 80+ vendors, live music, street dance, children’s activities, contests, autumn crafts and so much more! Get out of town and enjoy a drive through the fall country side, Washington is approx. 2 hours east of Atlanta.

Washington, Georgia, was the first town to be incorporated in the name of George Washington (1780), and it’s in local Wilkes County that Eli Whitney perfected the cotton gin, in 1795. Washington is also where the Confederacy was finally dissolved by Jefferson Davis. Somewhere nearby, the fabled Lost Confederate Gold is said to be buried. So if you’ll be out looking for it that weekend, come by and pick up a re:Paper journal so you can take notes, draw maps, and keep a record of your search.
