Posted by SaraQ on November 30th, 2008

kraftwork-3.jpgCome and check out two wonderful local galleries for local, handmade goods that you can feel good about giving this Holiday season! If you’re very adventurous you could even check out two fabulous gallery openings this Thursday night. If you work in Atlanta, start at Young Blood Gallery for Kraftwork Thursday (December 3rd), 7-10 p.m. Atlanta ’s finest indie crafters will be on hand, including yours truly, selling handmade goodies for everyone on your shopping list. Entrance is FREE for shoppers to both Kraftwork and the Young Blood Gallery/ Shop.

The opening reception is Thursday (Dec. 4), 6-9pm and is free to enter. If you can’t make the opening, don’t fret- the Holiday Artist Market will run all month, from December 5-24th, Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm. There’s even a Family Day on December 14th, you can bring out the kids and make art together! The Spruill Gallery is also conveniently close to Perimeter Mall if you’re already in that area to do some shopping- thought of course nothing beats buying handmade and supporting you local artists!

bestzombiesquare.jpgOkay, no pun intended- but the fact that I made having to eat candy a central part of making my Sugar Skull Momento Mori “Zombie” entry book makes my winning the BEST Zombie Award even sweeter! Better yet, I’ve learned that my Sugar Skull book is being put to use this very moment by the talented Kjersten Hayes! Thanks everyone who voted, it’s really an honor to have won among such amazingly crafted and wonderfully imaginative entries! If you missed the contest, do yourself a favor and check out the Etsy shops of the talented BEST (Bookbinder Etsy Street Team) bookbinders who entered:
